Diisocyanates

Chartered in 1988, the Diisocyanates Panel sponsors research on methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and toluene diisocyanate (TDI), monitors impending regulations, legislation, and other initiatives affecting the production or use of diisocyanates, and develops appropriate responses.

The Panel's Activities Include the Following:

• Participating in rulemaking proceedings and submission of comments on proposed regulations impacting TDI and MDI; and

• Initiating of advocacy to address regulatory requirements that do not appear to be supported by the available scientific data; and

• Communicating with regulators and others to improve the accuracy and reliability of data characterizations so that future policy and regulatory actions are appropriate; and

• Working with government health agencies to study diisocyanates.
