Premium Spray Products hits home run with worker health and safety program

The American Chemistry Council’s Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) is proud to recognize Premium Spray Products for achieving a key worker safety milestone.

Premium Spray Products – a manufacturer of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications – has achieved 100 percent employee completion of the CPI’s High-Pressure Spray Polyurethane Foam Chemical Health and Safety Training program.

“At CPI, we celebrate our members’ commitment to health and safety,” said Lee Salamone, CPI Senior Director. “By providing this chemical health and safety training to all of its employees, Premium Spray Products has shown its dedication to the safety of its workers.”

The training provides information about the use, handling and disposal of spray polyurethane foam, potential health hazards and control measures, including engineering controls and personal protective equipment.

“Our company is committed to providing employees with clear, concise information about safety when working with spray foam,” Bruce Schenke, Premium Spray Products Technical Service Manager said.

The company also recently signed the Spray Foam Coalition Code of Conduct, which demonstrates further commitment to continuous improvement in health, safety and product stewardship of with respect to spray polyurethane foam products. Adopted earlier this year, the Spray Foam Coalition Code of Conduct is the first commitment of its kind in the spray polyurethane foam industry.

CPI’s High-Pressure Spray Polyurethane Foam Chemical Health and Safety Training Program

The training program used by Premium Spray Products was created by CPI to provide information for spray polyurethane foam contractors, applicators or helpers who work with two-component high pressure spray polyurethane foam systems. The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) has made completion of CPI high-pressure spray polyurethane foam Chemical Health and Safety Training programs a prerequisite for any level of certification under SPFA’s Professional Certification Program.

CPI and safety

CPI encourages everyone involved in the spray polyurethane foam industry to be a safety ambassador and help spread the safety message. In addition to the high- and low- pressure SPF training programs, CPI offers guidance documents, posters and videos about handling, personal protection equipment and other important topics for the safe and effective use of spray polyurethane foam.
