Congratulations to the #Chemistry2Energy Photo Contest’s eighth weekly winner, Jay Richard (@Jay36483296), who submitted a photo of a wind turbine along with the caption:
#Chemistry2Energy – Wind Power: Efficient Energy to power America in the 21st Century and beyond.
Renewable sources of energy like wind and solar, along with responsible natural gas development and creative approaches to energy efficiency, can play an important role in an “all-of-the-above” domestic energy strategy that will enable a strong, secure and sustainable future for the United States.
As ACC member company BASF explains in a podcast, chemistry helps to make wind energy more economical, and “modern wind turbines would hardly be conceivable without innovative solutions in chemistry.” And the wind energy we generate through innovations in chemistry, we can also better conserve and more efficiently use through chemistry-enabled technologies.
Jay’s submission earned him $50 towards his next energy bill and a chance at the grand prize.
