As a part of the chemical industry’s responsible management of its products, the Ethylene Oxide Panel Ethylene Oxide Safety Task Group (STG), a group comprised of producers and industrial users, developed the Ethylene Oxide Product Stewardship Manual – 3rd edition. The STG’s mission is to generate, collect, evaluate and share information pertinent to the safe handling of ethylene oxide during the manufacture, transportation, use and disposal.

This manual is intended to provide general information to persons who may handle or store ethylene oxide. It includes information on the properties, health effects, environmental effects and hazards of Ethylene Oxide. Also included is information on personnel protective equipment, equipment preparation for maintenance as well as information on emergency response and selected regulations. Information on Design of Facilities and Transportation and Unloading Operations are not currently available on this website. Interested persons may contact their ethylene oxide suppliers for further information or to request a copy of these specific materials.
