WASHINGTON (April 18, 2017) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) has just released the 2017 edition of its statistical reference book on plastic resins, Resin Review. This annual publication is compiled from data collected by a third party on behalf of ACC’s Plastics Industry Producers’ Statistics Group, and other sources, and represents an authoritative resource for analyzing and understanding the U.S. plastic resins industry.

Resin Review 2017 The 2017 edition contains detailed tables on North American resin production, sales, industry capacities and utilization rates from 2006 – 2016. Sales data for major thermoplastic resins are segmented into end-use markets from 2012 – 2016, and a table with historical data on U.S. plastics production and sales and captive use tracks the trend from 1973 to 2016.

The publication explains the basic chemistry of plastics and manufacturing processes, and includes material flow diagrams and monomer derivatives diagrams. It also details the history of plastics development and provides a glossary of basic plastics terms.

The 2017 edition of Resin Review is priced at $300 for a PDF download or $350 for a hard copy, plus tax, shipping and handling, and can be ordered online at www.resinreview.com.

Note: The ACC Plastics Industry Producers’ Statistics Group makes available detailed reports (including monthly production and end-use sales figures for major thermoplastic and thermoset resins) to subscribers of its various services. For more information about subscription options and to place an order, please call ACC at 202-249-7000 or visit www.americanchemistry.com/resin-report-subscriptions.
